Council has adopted the 2024/25 Municipal Plan including budget, long-term financial plan, rates and fees and charges, at a Special Meeting of Council on Thursday 27 June 2024. The Municipal Plan and Budget aligned to the Katherine Town Council Strategic Plan 2027.

Katherine Town Council has fitted its ranger vehicle with a K9 Kube electric dog transport cage to minimise animal stress and improve work health and safety. The new K9 Kube cage can be operated by rangers by remote control, allowing them to secure dogs in the back of their vehicle with minimal risk of being bitten or injured while lifting dogs.
