Katherine Aquatic Centre

Currently closed as of Friday 15 March 2024.

The Katherine Aquatic Centre is 43 years old and worn out. We understand the importance of the opportunity to swim, particularly for our lap swimmers, learn-to-swim students, and school swimming sports. We had no choice but to closedown the pool. See media release here

Katherine Town Council received a very welcome certified funding agreement from the Federal Government in March 2024.

The future looks bright for a renovated 50-metre pool, an additional 25-metre pool, with new pumps and filtration systems as just part of the planned upgrade. The contractor confirmed to complete renovations is Sitzler.
