Community Grants Program is Open
Katherine Town Council's annual community grants program opened today and has been boosted by an additional $20,000 this year.
The program offers minor grants of up to $2000 and major grants of up to $5000 for projects and events that align with the Council's five-year strategic plan through promoting social cohesion and community development that meets local needs.
The funding can cover capital purchases, community events, and initiatives, and recipients must co-contribute financially or in kind.
This year, the Council will host two information sessions designed to help people understand the eligibility criteria and the grant guidelines and offer step-by-step guidance on how to apply. The sessions include a Q&A to address queries.
Mayor Lis Clark said the Council supported 14 projects last year and is proud to empower community groups that help create a vibrant environment for all to enjoy.
The 2024/25 grant program applications are open from 1 – 30 August 2024. Documents and forms can be found on the website here. For more information, contact Amanda Haigh at events@ktc.nt.gov.au or 8972 5500.
