Community Grants Program
Katherine Town Council's Community Grants Program is dedicated to supporting local individuals, organisations, and groups passionate about making a positive impact within our community. These grants help fund initiatives that align with the Council’s five-year strategic plan, promoting community development, enhancing social cohesion, and addressing local needs.
Council provides up to $40,000 annually in funding. For the 2024-25 period, it has been boosted by an additional $20,000, so $60,000 will be allocated to the community. Applicants may apply for a minor grant of up to $2000 for capital purchases or initiatives or up to $5000 for a major event.
Application Process
Katherine Town Council’s Community Grants Program opens every year from the 1st of August through to the 31st of August.
The applications are assessed by the Community Grants Assessment Panel, which then recommends to the Council for endorsement. Once the recommendations have been adopted by the Council, grant funding letters are emailed to the applicants advising them of the outcome (late September/early October).
