Published on Thursday, 17 August 2023 at 8:41:04 AM

This year is the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War where almost 60 000 Australian personnel from the army, air force and navy served.

Vietnam Veterans’ Day, on 18 August, is an annual commemoration of Australia’s involvement in the Battle of Long Tan – Australia’s most costly battle throughout the ten-year Vietnam War.

In recognition of this anniversary and of all those who serve, past and present, the Katherine Town Council is coordinating a commemorative service at the Katherine Cenotaph, supported by the Katherine RSL Subbranch and RAAF Base Tindal.

The service starts at 6 pm sharp on Friday, 18th of August at the Cenotaph on Railway Terrace.

If you would like to lay a wreath, please fill in an expression of interest form which you can find online here.
