Travelling Film Festival Katherine from 12-14 Feb 2021 at Katherine Star Cinema YES, THIS FEBRUARY TRAVELLING FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS TO KATHERINE WITH THE WORLD’S BEST CINEMA! FULL PROGRAM: www.sff.org.au/tff/program/katherine Travelling Film Festival (TFF), the regional tour of Sydney Film Festival, will return to Katherine from 12—14 February 2021 at Katherine Star Cinema. The program will showcase five acclaimed feature films, two superb documentaries and four exceptional Australian short films, direct from last year’s Sydney Film Festival and other major international festivals. Headlining the program is Firestarter: The Story of Bangarra, the brand new Australian documentary that explores the rise of a small Australian company to a world renowned cultural powerhouse complete with specially curated dance sequences that Bangarra is famous for. Other stories from around the globe include: Poland’s Oscar nominee for Best International Film Corpus Christi; Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom, direct from Berlinale 2020, this gem from Bhutan was beautifully shot in the high-altitude peaks of the Himalayas; A Son, a Venice Film Festival winner, set in the warm Tunisian countryside; plus The Perfect Candidate, directed by Saudi Arabia’s first female director Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadjda – a TFF favourite), is a revealing look at the changing role of women in Saudi Arabia. Also included in the program is The Climb - witty and smart, this hilarious prize-winning buddy comedy follows two bickering best friends as they drag themselves painfully through adulthood. And to round off the program, a documentary hailed as “one of the most heart-warming spy movies of all time” by Indiewire, the charmingly insightful The Mole Agent. This year TFF is also proud to present an extraordinary Australian short film selection, including Ayaan, a Sydney Film Festival 2020 finalist, and the Screenability initiative, showcasing provocative cinema by filmmakers with disability with Diving In, Safety Net and Groundhog Night.
